Apr - Jul 2016, Orchard Road, Singapore | Kult was invited by The Events Artery to plan a 2-month talent development programme and fringe activities under the Interactive Media and Urban Arts pillars for the youth festival.
Youth who signed up as mentees in the development programme underwent sessions by creatives in the industry that taught them the ins and outs of interactive media and urban art. Speakers for these sessions were curated by Kult and came from a spectrum of disciplines. Notable names include Jackson Aw from toy collective MightyJaxx, actor Amy Cheng and Mas from Band of Doodlers.
The mentees would spend the remaining weeks leading up to the festival conceptualising and creating on-ground activations based on their pillars. The work that they produced during the sessions were also displayed in a showcase from 1 - 3 July.
Additionally, Kult had set up silkscreening and marble art booths that peppered the festival grounds. New Media Assembly (NMA) was engaged to create an interactive digital graffiti space for visitors to make light art when then sun went down.
